Dinner Bread rolls

This is an easy and tasty recipe for dinner rolls or maybe just as a snack for afternoon tea with butter or caramelised onion. I love the smell of fresh baked bread anytime! Original recipe is from www.taste.com.au.

White dinner rolls

Ingredients:

- 3 cups of plain flour (white or wholemeal)
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 40 g of butter, chopped
- 1 cup of warm milk (low fat milk works too)
- 1 tablespoon of dry yeast (or 2 sachets of 7 g)
- 2 tablespoons of caster sugar (raw caster sugar or splenda is good too)
- Extra flour to dust
- 2 tablespoons of pepita (optional)

Preparation:

1- Combine flour and salt in a big bowl, add butter and mix until resembles breadcrumbs.

2- Combine milk, sugar and yeast, set aside for 15 minutes.

3- Add milk-sugar-yeast mixture to the flour mixture, knead the dough for 15 minutes, place the dough in a bowl covered with a tea towel in a warm place in the kitchen and let it rest for 1 hour.

4- Pre-heat oven at 200C, once the 1 hour has passed place the dough on lightly flour bench and knead for 2 minutes then divide into 6 to 8 balls, place the balls in a greased tray(See photos) and set aside for 10 minutes.

5- After the 1o minutes, lightly brush the rolls with water and dust with the extra flour bake for 5 minutes then reduce the heat at 180C and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Enjoy freshly baked dinner rolls with your favourite topping, mine is garlic butter.
